Upon your arrival at Lima airport, board your flight to Puerto Maldonado Amazon which is your next destination. On your arrival to Puerto Maldonado airport, the lodge staff will welcome you and provide the necessary information for your stay. Navigate by outboard motorized canoe along the Madre de Dios River to Inkaterra Hacienda Concepción for approximately 25 minutes. Enjoy lunch with organic ingredients and native flavors. After lunch, take a walk-through Concepcion trail, inside the property nature trails, where you will discover and learn about primary and secondary rainforest, its components, uses, transformations by the human being, and its relevance for the world. At dusk navigate by outboard motorized canoe, at the Twilight River excursion. By sailing on the Madre de Dios River, you will learn about its ecosystem, Amazonian creeks, nocturnal animals’ behavior, and the southern constellations. In the evening enjoy a delicious dinner at Casa Grande´s dining room.

Overnight: Inkaterra Hacienda Concepcion Lodge

After taking a delicious buffet breakfast, get ready for a long trek through terra firma into the Tambopata National Reserve towards Lake Sandoval. Here you will understand why Madre de Dios is called the biodiversity capital of Peru, while learning about the Reserve’s conservation efforts and the lake’s formation. Navigate by dugout canoe across this mirror-like oxbow lake that is home to the endangered giant river otter (Pteronura brasiliensis), blue and yellow macaw (Ara ararauna), red howler monkey (Alouatta seniculus), black caiman (Melanosuchus niger), and one of the world’s biggest fresh waters scaled fish, the Paiche (Arapaima gigas). Back to the lodge for lunch. Later walk the Inkaterra Canopy walkway & Anaconda walk waits for you. Take a 20-minute ride by outboard motorized canoe to Inkaterra Canopy Walkway Interpretation Center where you will learn about its construction and the conservation projects of ITA-Inkaterra Asociacion (NGO). Ascend one of the two 98-foot towers (30m) and cross the 7 hanging bridges that connect the treetops at 91 ft. high (28 m). Enjoy the breathtaking vistas and get the chance to watch white-throated toucans (Ramphastos tucanus), woodpeckers, trogons, squirrel monkeys (Saimiri boliviensis) and the three-toed sloth (Choleopus hoffmani). After descending keep on feeling the incredible primary rainforest energy going along the 200-meter wooden bridge over the swamps (aguajales). You will learn about the fauna and flora of this flooded ecosystem. At night get ready for an adventure during the Rainforest by night excursion, where you will explore the Amazon rainforest that gives way to nocturnal animals who display intriguing behavior patterns, and enhanced senses as adaptation mechanisms. Listen to nocturnal living nature sounds, and penetrate this hidden world. End up your day with a pleasant dinner.

Overnight: Inkaterra Hacienda Concepcion Lodge

After breakfast, we will take a ride back to Puerto Maldonado by outboard motorized canoe. Arrive at the Butterfly House, explore this beautiful place and learn about the fascinating transformation of these colorful insects and then board your flight to your next destination. Upon your arrival at Cusco airport, our Machupicchu Latin America representative will pick you up from the airport and transferred to your hotel in our private transport. While we enjoy the short ride to your hotel, we will have the chance to brief you and check any details regarding the following day activities answering any questions you may still have about the program. After check in at the hotel the balance of the day is all yours at leisure.

Overnight: Cusco

After breakfast at your hotel, our Machupicchu Latin America guide will pick you up from your hotel lobby between 7:00am to 7:30am and drive you in our private transport from Cusco passing through Sacsayhuaman & Puca Pucara Inca sites, our first stop will be at Manos de la Comunidad rescue center (we can observe Alpacas, Llamas & Vicuñas) and then continue descending to Taray lookout and stop a few minutes for one of the best classic pictures of the Sacred Valley and then we will drive up to Pisac Inca site to have stunning views over the valley. Here you can appreciate temples, residences, altars, channels and learn about the Incan agricultural methods shared by our Machupicchu Latin America expert guides. Then we will stop at the village of Pisac to visit its traditional market to interact with the local people and purchase some local souvenirs. After this beautiful visit, we will drive you to Urubamba town to enjoy a delicious buffet lunch (not included). After lunch, we continue our journey to Ollantaytambo to visit this amazing Inca site, which is an important area with Inca constructions, built during the Incan times. This is an extraordinary Inca citadel where we will find an amazing rock formation representing the Inca god Wiracocha. Finally, we will take you to the train station located in the same town of Ollantaytambo and board the train to Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu pueblo). This train journey allows you to appreciate the fascinating scenery along the sacred Vilcanota River. Upon arrival at Aguas Calientes train station, you will be welcomed by our hotel staff and Machupicchu Latin America representative who will walk you to the hotel. After check in at the hotel, the balance of the day is all yours at leisure.

Overnight: CuscoAguas Calientes (Machupicchu pueblo)

After breakfast at your hotel, our Machupicchu Latin America guide will pick you up from your hotel lobby between 6:30am to 7:00am and walk you to the bus station to board the bus and take a 30 minutes ride up to the main entrance gate of Machupicchu to begin a unique experience by exploring one of the New Seven Wonders of the World accompanied with a professional tour guide who will share with you all his knowledge about the history, traditions and more that surrounds this mysterious and enigmatic Inca citadel of Machupicchu. After we are done with the visit, board the bus down to Aguas Calientes for lunch (not included) and enjoy some extra time at the town to get some local souvenirs and then board the train back to Ollantaytambo train station where our representative will be waiting for you and transferred in our private transport back to your Cusco hotel.

Overnight: Cusco

After breakfast at your hotel, jump into our optional tours to keep exploring the Cusco city tour including Sacsayhuaman or the Maras-Moray and Salineras (Salt Mines) tour otherwise the balance of the day is at leisure to explore the capital of the Incas Cusco on your own.
